Green and Spencer, New York, 1848. 8vo, Blind stamp brown cloth with gilt titles to front and spine, bumped on all edges, spine distressed. Pp. (3), 1 advert, 380. 47 simple hand-coloured plates, foxing to some plates; a small tear to a blank margin of flamingo plate 8, backgrounds of a few plates and pages browned. In worn but complete condition.

The Platypus, Burrell, 1927

Burrell, H. : The Platypus. Amgus and Robertson, Sydney 1927. Pp222 + Pp4 Index. Black and white photographs throughout, coloured photograph of J. W. Lewins 1810 image of the platypus. Front and back papers of the dust wrapper included together with a newspaper cutting of a review of the book dated July 7, 1927. Maroon cloth binding with gilt titles to spine and date marked in white. Provenance, bookplate of Charles R.J. Glover, first Lord Mayor of Adelaide. This book is in a very clean and bright order throughout.

(ii), 259 pp. Illustrated with 8 chromolithograph plates and numerous black and white drawings in the text. Bound in green cloth, front board decorated in black and gilt with fish, emus and a kangaroo against a forest background. Lacks front and rear endpapers, gilt decorated pastedowns clean and bright. All edges gilt. Corners bumped. Owners inscriptions in ink and pencil. Good condition, a nice copy of a scarce book. Ferguson vol. VI, 12514, Muir p577.
